Covers
The second fundamental decision for all book designers. The choice between our
hardback options and soft back format will make a significant impact on the style
of your book.
Softback
Our soft back book option allows for a fully printed cover of your own design. The cover material is a matt laminated 300gsm stock.
Hardback with printed
cover wrap
This cover option allows for a printed cover of your own design in full colour across the front and back cover and spine. A printed sheet of 135gsm is wrapped around the cover board for a seamless finish. A colour choice in headbands, marker ribbons and endpapers accompanies this option.
Hardback with a cloth cover
The cloth binding of a hardback book is a traditional technique. We use authentic bookbinding methods for an exceptional finish. Choose from a total of eight colours in two palettes. A colour choice in headbands, marker ribbons and endpapers accompanies this option. The addition of debossing or foiling would complete this classic look.
Hardback with a dust jacket
A dust jacket completes your book. All books with dust jackets will be bound in dark grey Library Buckrum. The dust jacket itself is a matt laminated 150gsm stock, and it is printable across the front and back cover and spine. A colour choice in headbands, marker ribbons and endpapers accompanies this option.
Paper
Our paper choices feature the three essential text stock finishes. Each will bring its own particular qualities and benefits to your publication.

For hardback books specified with a cloth cover there is a choice of eight colours in two distinctive palettes. We use premium grade book cloth.

Head Bands
Head Bands are a standard feature for all hardback book specifications. The traditional decorative coloured band that features at both ends of the spine, is a subtle but important finishing touch. We offer a choice of four colour options.

Endpapers
Endpapers are a standard feature for all hardback book specifications. A coloured paper inner lining to your cover is a traditional bookbinding feature. Our endpapers are a premium grade uncoated stock. Choose from a total of eight colours in two distinctive palettes.

Debossing and Foiling
These specialist print techniques are available for all book covers. Debossings and foilings can be applied to text or graphics on the front cover, back cover and/or spine. There is a maximum size restriction of 120 x 60 mm for the artwork and we advise against using very fine detail in your design.
Foiling
A metallic rendition of your text or design, die-stamped into the cover. Choose from a classic Gold or Silver Gloss Foil.
Debossing
An inverted impression of your text or design, die-stamped into the cover material. This is a 'Blind' Debossing, so there is no colour choice associated with this option.
